Own Goal

Do you know, when I set out on this weight loss journey I could not visualise the size I wanted to be. I knew that I wanted my BMI to be about 22. I knew I wanted to be thinner. I knew I wanted to be fitter. But most of all I wanted to be able to stay at a healthy weight. It is too soon to say whether I will be able to achieve my last aim but the others can have great humongous ticks next to them. And because I'm feeling generous, they get a gold star too.

Not being able to visualise myself as a thinner person was an interesting difficulty. We were encouraged to set target goals. Quantifiable specific targets such as dress sizes. But I have been a size 20+ for so long I had no idea what I shou
ld be. I decided to keep the BMI of 22 as my target. It was just a number but it seemed to make more sense to me than a dress size.

At the start of the program we had before photos taken. So last night was the night for our after pics. I thought carefully about what to wear. I chose a new size 12 top. Sorry, indulge me here, I'm going to repeat that sentence. I chose a new size 12, that's
size 12
top. I teamed it with a pair of size 14 crop jeans. I've been planning the outfit for a while. Unfortunately the trousers are already baggy ...!

Anyway, without further ado, let me reveal all. Well not all. I keep my clothes on.

I am now working towards keeping it off and staying fit. It's a fun place to be!

Respect to the size 12 gal standing in front of the door. Really, I am not worthy. All hail the successful Belle!

For the last four weeks I've been encountering 'weight management' from the professional dietetic point of view, as well as my own experience of a BMI of 28. Losing weight is one of the hardest things in the world; another is maintaining that weight. Hope you stay there, in your fun place! Enjoy it to the max!

Sweetie you look so wonderful. I'm so excited for you. With the maintenance thing, take it a day at a time and you'll get there. You can do this, especially with that Wii fit. Hugs.

Helen - I ended up on this blog be accident (I wanted to say thanks for the comment on my blog, it nice to know someone reads it ... but have to say - you are half the woman you used to be (but look twice the fun to be with!)

As for me while I doing fine. I just keep shoving the drugs in and the pain goes away, just like the doctor said. Shame he didn't tell me that they slow your brain, make you fall asleep on your feet, and make speaking a second language impossible if you take to many. Found this out whilst trying to teach 25 students the Old Testament tonight.

Good for you, Belle, what hard work you've put into this transformation. There must be something in the air: I started doing an hour's steady walk every second day along with a toning belt and I am seeing the inches contract and my troosers fit more comfortably lately.

Yay for you, you look really, really fab! Bet you have more energy too :)

How do I tell you this, but I prefer the slightly larger version of you. I know, God only knows, that I have been a slimmer (mostly WW)for some years now but I still recognise curves when I see them. Do not despair, you really don't have a problem. x
