believe me, it's tempting.
However, two lovely things have happened. First, I had a proud mummy moment yesterday and just lately they're about as rare as hens teeth so it was very special. For the first time ever in the whole of my experience of parents' evenings I was told what a wonderful son I have. It was delightful. I beamed with pride and began to realise why for so many these evenings are a time of pleasure. Obviously there was one teacher with the people skills of a socially incompetant ameoba but the rest were lovely.
The second lovely thing is that the gorgeous Ms Beaufoix has bestowed this on me:

isn't that kind? In turn I shall blow it to the following bloggy babes who have helped maintain my sanity and put up with my incessant wingeing over recent weeks: Tina, Riverwillow, Holly and Barbara

Hi there,
Glad to see you follow the maxims of Maxine. I even have a mug with something witty and her picture on it.
And you're right - the Joys of Parenting eh?
oh HEY! nice one! a wonderful son, even! woo hoo! get the bubbly out!
and thanks for the kissy-kissy. :) i heart you too!
re the daughter. do they still have sailings to the pitcairn islands? i'm just sayin'. ..
Congrats on the award and the proud parenting moment.
And I think your daughter should meet my son. And the last one standing would "win".
Congratulations on the award and on the proud parenting moment. We all deserve a moment of recognition on a regular basis, especially when one of our offspring is being contrary. I wish you a lot of strength and wisdom and a bit of humor as well.
Lovely to see you back Belle.
You deserve the award ...so whatcha gonna do with ya daughter??
Belle, I most definitely must have missed the 'memo' with regards to "The Joys of Parenting" - Will most definitely get back to you if it ever catches up with me though ... :0)
expatmum - how nice to meet you!
holly - pitcairn islands, hmm? nice plan ...
rc - you could be on to something, but I'm not sure the world is ready for us to unleash that terror
sweet irene - I'll keep laughing, a little maniacally at times maybe
mid-lifer - you too! As for Tilly, see Holly's suggestion ;o)
mzungu chick - will keep my eyes peeled for it too.
Congratulations on the award and well done to your son for making his mum proud. I guess daughter's are difficult to cope with once they hit that age. Perhaps you should take a step back for a while, let her realise her own mistakes.
Crystal xx
Yay, glad you had mainly a good time at Parent's Evening. It's always a weird one isn't it.
And it's a pleasure to send you bloggy love young lady. You are fabulous.
Congrats to you and son -I empathise very much with this having just experienced first parent's evening with son where I didn't have to apologise for his existence, and he and I were both gentle shade of pink- blushes-with-embarrassment-at-unaccustomed-praise. He'll still probably fail but at least the teachers love him for the moment! And daughters - well, don't get me started at the moment. We just have to hang on and hope for the best...
Congrats on the award Belle. Hope things improve with the daughter, it's a bit of a worry but they all settle down in the end.
Hopefully.
xx
award at my place...
I have an award for you over at my place, but now I see that you already have it, so consider yourself twice lucky.
